Ehopto Registry โ€” Terms of Use

Plain-language summary ยท July 2026 ยท Ehopto Pty Ltd, South Africa

1. Codes and the registry

Every Ehopto code is permanent and never reused. A code page ("hub") describes an entity and its connections. Claiming a code means an account holder asserted ownership and Ehopto accepted the claim; a Verified badge means Ehopto additionally confirmed the identity behind it. Verification can be revoked if information proves false.

2. Originality certificates and the Checker

Originality certificates reflect only the absence of matches within Ehopto's registry at the time of issue; they are not a legal determination of authorship. Fingerprint matching identifies similar registered media but can miss heavily edited copies and cannot see works never registered with us. Certificates record what was registered, by whom, and when โ€” they are evidence, not adjudication.

3. Your content and works

You keep ownership of everything you post or protect. Vaulted originals stay private and unaltered. Published images carry a visible Ehopto code mark and a registered fingerprint. By posting publicly you allow Ehopto to display your content in hubs and feeds, including to visitors who are not signed in.

4. Moderation and safety

5. Orders, payments and commissions

Orders placed through Ehopto are records between buyer and seller; Ehopto charges a platform fee (5%) on settled orders, and consented advertising placements earn the page owner their agreed commission. Sponsored placements are labelled. Sellers are responsible for delivering what they sell.

6. Privacy (POPIA)

We collect what the product needs: your account details, what you post, and activity on your own pages (used to power your own insights โ€” never sold, never shown to other members as your private data). Check-in presence is anonymous counts unless you choose to show your name per check-in. Files sent to the Checker are fingerprinted in memory and not stored. Data requests: contact us via your account.

7. The service

Ehopto is provided as-is while in active development. We work to keep codes resolving permanently, but no online service can promise perpetual uptime. These terms will grow more formal as the platform does; material changes will be announced.
